Light House Orphanage
Just 15 minutes from the city of Phnom Penh (Capital city of Cambodia) lies an orphanage that houses over 100 children aged 3 to 17 years. The children are absolutely adorable and love to have visitors come and visit with them, and also practice their language skills.
The moment you arrive at the gates, you'll be greeted with happy faces, open arms and screams of joy!
LHO was established on the 15, February, 2003 to help reduce child poverty and suffering in Cambodia.
The children have been rescued from the streets and the pagodas after being abandoned by the parent for various reasons. The Lighthouse Orphanage offers the children safety, free housing, food, education, and parental support.
The Light House Organization (LHO) is a local non-profit, non-government organization (NGO).
We have local volunteer staff working for LHO, five live at the orphanage full time.
LHO Mission
To alleviate child poverty and suffering in Cambodia by providing orphaned and abandoned children a safe home, food, clothing, medicine, education, and other support, thereby giving them the opportunity to become healthy, self-dependent members of society.
LHO relies entirely upon donations and volunteer time from individuals, both from Cambodia and abroad.
